Green Industry and Big Data Information System Preliminary Development Plan

Absrtact
The reorganization of the Environmental Inspection Agency and the Environmental Training Institute into the National Environmental Research Institute involves a comprehensive upgrade. The Environmental Inspection Agency, based on various monitoring tasks, develops various methods and generates a massive amount of data. It requires the consolidation of this extensive data through a database, effectively taking inventory and categorizing the vast information. It also involves designing applications such as massive data warehousing systems to meet the needs of business meetings, gathering long-term environmental governance indicators, among other requirements. The initial phase of this project includes collecting domestic monitoring data, analyzing global environmental big data-related literature, and planning a massive information warehousing system. The later stages involve implementing Business Intelligence (BI) concepts, collecting information on domestic and international green industries, and monitoring the changes related to net-zero policy promotion. Summary of project execution results: 1.Conducting preliminary work on environmental information (database) consolidation and massive information system development: Reviewing literature and data collection on domestic and international environmental data analysis, database construction, serving as references for future data analysis and environmental management. International experiences will be used to assess our country's management strategies and suggest adjustments. The project prioritizes environmental data beyond regulatory management, open data, and market information, inventorying various system data fields for potential spatiotemporal analysis to guide future policies. 2.Implementing Business Intelligence (BI) concepts to plan and establish long-term environmental governance indicators: Referencing international environmental governance indicators, using data databases to propose and establish these indicators. Employing the DPSIR framework to create relevant indicators that aid environmental management systems. Incorporating the design logic of BI tools based on the aforementioned indicator framework, utilizing algorithms to uncover hidden information within data, adjusting data analysis principles based on trends. 3.Gathering information on the current status of domestic (and international) green industries and their responses to net-zero policy changes: In response to changes driven by net-zero policies, this project aims to understand the current status of domestic and international green industries, analyzing data on energy consumption, pollution emissions, and greenhouse gas emissions. Referring to various domestic ministries' policy directions and the Financial Supervisory Commission's sustainable development roadmap, focusing on major industries to compile sustainable reports disclosing environmental, social, and corporate governance performance. Using the steel industry as an example, the project illustrates the current status of promoting green industries domestically and internationally and proposes subsequent response strategies.
